Google Play screenshot sizes in 2026 (exact dimensions)

By Digital Sauce · Updated July 2026 · 4 min read

If your Google Play screenshots are the wrong size, the Console rejects them and your store listing looks off on real devices. Here are the exact dimensions, format rules and limits — the numbers you actually need, with nothing to guess.

The exact sizes at a glance

Google Play accepts screenshots per device type. These are clean, store-faithful portrait sizes that satisfy Play's requirements and look sharp on modern devices:

AssetRecommended sizeAspect
Phone screenshot1080 × 19209:16
7-inch tablet1206 × 2144≈9:16
10-inch tablet1449 × 2316≈5:8
Feature graphic1024 × 500≈2:1

Landscape versions simply swap width and height. Portrait is by far the most common for phone apps, so that's what most listings use.

Format and dimension rules

Because the longer side can't exceed 2× the shorter side, extremely tall "one long scroll" screenshots won't pass. Stick to standard device proportions like the sizes above.

How many screenshots can you upload?

Google Play allows 2 to 8 screenshots per device type. Phone screenshots are required; tablet screenshots are optional, but adding them makes your app eligible to be surfaced to tablet users and looks far more complete.

A practical set is 4–8 phone screenshots that tell a story: lead with your strongest feature, then walk through the core value of the app.

Do you need different screenshots for each device?

You don't have to, but you should. A phone screenshot stretched onto a 10-inch tablet looks low-effort. The cleaner approach is to export a correctly-sized set for each device type you support, so every listing looks native.

The fastest way to get every size right

Playboard exports at all of these exact sizes automatically. Drop in a raw screenshot, wrap it in a device frame, add a caption, and export a store-ready set for phone and both tablet sizes plus the 1024×500 feature graphic — no manual resizing, and nothing leaves your browser.
